Wagering requirements on crash games come down to one formula: your expected cost is the amount you must wager times the house edge. A £50 bonus with 30x wagering means £1,500 in bets; on a 97% RTP crash game that costs about £45 on average, on a 99% RTP crash original about £15. The target you pick doesn’t change that average, but it changes how often your balance survives the wagering: in our simulations, a 1.2x auto cash out ran dry far less often than 2x. First, though, check that crash games count at all. Part of our crash game strategy guide.
Do crash games count?
Every casino sets its own rules. Look for three things in the bonus terms: whether crash games are allowed, their contribution percentage (100% means every £ counts in full) and the maximum bet while a bonus is active. If crash counts at 50%, you need to wager twice as much, which doubles the expected cost.
The cost of wagering, worked out
| Bonus | Wagering | Total to bet | Cost at 97% RTP | Cost at 99% RTP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| £25 | 30x | £750 | £22.50 | £7.50 |
| £50 | 30x | £1,500 | £45 | £15 |
| £50 | 40x | £2,000 | £60 | £20 |
If the bonus is worth more than the expected cost, the maths is on your side on average. The crash game RTP guide explains where the percentages come from.
Which target clears wagering best?
We simulated a £100 balance (deposit plus bonus) wagering £1,500 with flat £5 bets, 10,000 runs per target:
| Auto cash out | 97% RTP: median left | Ran dry | 99% RTP: median left | Ran dry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.2x | £52 | 16.1% | £82 | 4.2% |
| 1.5x | £55 | 31.0% | £85 | 16.8% |
| 2x | £40 | 42.4% | £80 | 30.6% |
Low targets keep the balance alive. That’s why the 1.2x strategy is a wagering favourite; the 1.1x strategy is even smoother.
Wagering mistakes to avoid
- Breaking the max-bet rule, which can void the bonus.
- Using progressions: the Martingale strategy raises stakes exactly when the balance is weakest.
- Forgetting the contribution rate: 50% contribution doubles the cost.

Put it to work
Our deposit bonus on crash games guide walks through a full example, and how rakeback works for crash covers the other way casinos give value back. Test your wagering plan in the simulator below, or play it in Aviator.
Pro tip: screenshot the bonus terms when you claim. Knowing the max bet and contribution rate up front saves the bonus.

8.3Frequently asked questions
Do crash games count towards wagering requirements?
It depends on the casino. Some count crash games at 100%, some at a reduced rate and some exclude them. Check the bonus terms first.
What does a 30x wagering requirement mean?
You must bet 30 times the bonus before you can withdraw it. A £50 bonus at 30x means £1,500 in total bets.
How much does clearing a bonus cost on average?
Total wagered times the house edge. £1,500 on a 97% RTP game costs about £45 on average; on a 99% RTP game about £15.
What is the best auto cash out for wagering?
A low target such as 1.2x. Every target costs the same per £ on average, but low targets swing less, so your balance survives the wagering more often.
Can I use Martingale to clear wagering?
It’s risky: progressions raise your bets after losses and often break the balance before wagering is done. Many bonus terms also cap the maximum bet.
Is a crash game good for clearing a bonus?
If it counts at 100%, yes: you control the target, and a low auto cash out gives smooth, predictable wagering.
