What is a multiplier in crash games?

By · Last updated 31 October 2026

The number that rises during a crash round, starting at 1.00x. Your payout is your stake times the multiplier at the moment you cash out. It keeps rising until the round crashes at a random, pre-decided point.

Why it matters

Quick rand example: R50 cashed out at 3x returns R150. Funding a session? Start with Ozow instant EFT.

The chance of reaching any multiplier is roughly RTP ÷ multiplier, so every doubling of your target halves your chance of hitting it.

In practice

Most crash games show the multiplier with two decimals and speed it up as it climbs, so the step from 1.00x to 2.00x takes noticeably longer than the step from 10x to 20x. That makes high cash-outs feel sudden and low ones feel slow. The pace is presentation only: the crash point was fixed before the round began.

Example

Cash out a R50 bet at 2.40x and you receive R120, a R70 profit.
